On April 25, 1915, in the famous Battle of the Landing at what become known as Anzac Cove, Lieutenant Spencer Westmacott of the Auckland Infantry Battalion was seriously wounded. However, he survived and went on to write an account of the day which has been called one of the best and truest testimonies of personal experience in battle ever writte. This is his story.
